MTH Boxcars and Passenger cars. The boxcars will start shipping this month. Logging dump cars will arrive soon also |
The level of detail on the boxcars are very good. The ladder rungs are perhaps too thick. The trucks feature real springs. The couplers on these are very similar to Bachmann/USA trains. The latch - as noted on the close up is also heavy duty and not exactly to scale but durability seems to be a key issue here. The catwalk is see through mesh, much like you see on the more modern boxcar offerings by USA Trains and Aristocraft |
There were Tank cars also. Some of the rails are brass. The walkways are also grated. Graphics are crisp and detailed. Plastic has the distinct feel of LGB plastic. It is not rigid but more pliable. |
The gentlemen at the MTH booth were very gracious. The Gauge 1 Hudson was running and they tempered down the smoke after awhile as it was quite overwhelming. The Challenger delivery date is March of 2004. |
