Bachmann Spectrum Heisler

This page was last updated on: January 28, 2004

The Heisler hit the line and here are some photos to get a good idea of what it looks like. There will be a more in depth review over the next few days.  These are initial photos of the unit for the Large Scale audience to get an early look of the Bachmann Spectrum Heisler.

This is a model of the undecorated version. The unit comes with 3 Bachmann figures, an assortment of model tool and an extra smoke stack [an onion stack].

Outstanding details that you come to expect from Bachmann.  All the windows and doors are fully functional.

There has been much written about the "lope" or "gait" of this locomotive at slow speeds.  In essence it wobbles down the line. To some degree this is prototypical
Right side of Cab with detail.  Much of the this unit has metal piping and straps.
The Packing on the unit is very good.  The Spectrum box is shipped in sturdy cardboard box with soft foam surround the box.  Bachmann includes an exploded parts diagram and a video CD that talks of the history of the Heisler and step by step instructions as how to lubricate.  Should you not have a CD player, Bachmann inludes a pretty comprehensive manual that also shows the proper lubrication method.
The photo on the right shows the front end, left side.  The on/off smoke switch and reverse polarity switch is also located behind the smoke box
door. The polarity switch is a 3 postion switch with the center position being "off"

IMPORTANT: Like all Bachmann Narrow Gauge Spectrum Models you need to lubricate this unit per the instructions.  As much as you want to run out and set in on the track - read the manual or watch the included CD.
