Completed Snow Plow.   I used a thick CA [super glue] cement. The new Loctite CA [called Quicktite Super Gel], super glue is wonderful.  The dispenser design is the best...I will never buy any other CA cement .
Getting a Snow Plow for the Geeps.

The USA trains GP7, GP9, GP 38 don't come with a snow plow.  The SD40-2
does and USA trains offers replacement parts for them so one was ordered. This face lift should work on the 3 engines mentioned above. You will need thick styrene, CA cement, sharp X-Acto, epoxy putty [or some type of "fill" glue].

The face only a mother could love! Front end of USA Trains GP-38.
SD-40-2 snow plow - USA Trains [part #2021]. Center opening is too large to look good.  There is a piece that could go there if you were to use a fake coupler.  When you remove it so the Hook n loop or USA Couplers can fit - you really don't have much left of a snow plow.

Cut a piece of styrene approximately 45 mm X 11 mm. Note it is an odd size.
There is another hunk of styrene glued along back to support front piece and give the blade a little more strength.. Back
Made it more robust with 0.75 mm styrene  - Front
The photo above shows how I used epoxy putty to fill in gaps and grooves.  I found this putty at Lowes in the pool section.  It is used to repair cracks in pools and can be applied under water. Smooth with water, let dry and sand with very fine sandpaper
Sprayed with sandable primer
Sanded - ready for primer.  CA cement was used.  Put engine on track to insure proper clearence before gluing.

The blade was spray painted in black and then a steel overspray.  Still a rather large hole but the USA trains coupler moves freely and there is enough clearance for the front coupler to operate.
Snow Plow with removable center section. If removed - open space is too large.
I noticed that the plastic that this snow plow is made of is not your typical USA trains plastic.  This plastic is much more flexible and has the same feel as LGB plastic.  Definitely not the same plastic that makes up the front steps of these locos [the ones that always snap off].
