LGB Switch repair - no power to rails
by Stephen Podwojski
After many years of outdoor service, I noted a section of track that would stop my engines cold.  I determined which specific section by using the time tested method of a power reader.

Note that each rail beneath the LGB switch is connected with a piece of a brass strip.  In the case of one of the isolated rails [isolated by the plastic "frog"], the strip became unnattached.  This made that small piece of rail isolated from the rail power.
What you need.
Soldering gun
Solder
Take a piece of abrasive material and clean the area where the strip should be resoldered.  I did a bit of overkill on this one with the solder but it will stay put.  Still learning.
Make sure that when you are reseating the section of rail back into the switch form that you place the rail back in a position that lines up correctly as noted in the photo on the left.
