May 5, 2001 Bank Account is now open. Mailing address will be solidified within the next week. Volunteers for Flyer distribution needed. Also, there are several standing committees that could use the help. April 09, 2001 Memberships being collected. Go to the membership page to review membership pricing. March 17, 2001 Getting ready. Prizes committee has come up with costs of the normal Prizes. We will determine wh initial Charter members will get in addition to basic Tchotchke. Hats and/or Shirts seem to be the the specific items of choice at this time. A membership sign up form will readily available soon. Currently, there is a Fax number that will be used for this type of sign up. Fax: 480/924.4292. We will be voting on hats or shirts in the next 2-3 days. Anyone going and will to assist in spreading the word can contact me. February 16, 2001 3 New Committees now forming Currently there are 4 Standing Committees. Besides the Steering committee, there is now: 1. Marketing/Membership Drive Committee - Active recruitment Ideas. Works with Publications. Brainstorming. 2. Publications committee [newsletter, project "Blue Book", Membership card]. _ We need a generic flyer to place on site so people can print it up and hand out at various and upcoming Train events. 3. Prizes/Tchotchke Committee - Tchotchke - Yiddish tshatshke trinket, from obsolete Polish czaczko. Click on "Committees" link on left to view current members. January 23, 2001 Not For Profit Registration Part 2 The state of Arizona seems will be where the ISLSMR will be registered. This Process is now underway. Currently, the discussion about the Society is now revolving around a fee and dues structure. Feel free to be a part of this discussion at Mylargescale or the Yahoo Groups site. January 12, 2001 Not For Profit Registration The society has been seriously discussing the Not for Profit Status and where it should be registered. Currently Arizona seems to be the top consideration. This decision will be finalized on 1/15/01. Any comments regarding that decision should be left at Mylargescale or the ISLSMR egroup site. November 30, 2000 CHAT NIGHT A regular Chat discussion has been started on the Egroups site. This Chat session starts at 9:30 PM, EST, 8;30 CST, 7:30 PM, MST, 6:30 PM PST. Click on the link below to take you to the eGroups forum that hosts the site. The chat itself is not regulated to just ISLSMR topics. Feel free to join! November 24, 2000 BYLAWS & MISSION STATEMENT The Mission Statement for the Society has been approved. Bylaws are in the process of being solidified. Please review discussion items regarding these items at MyLargeScale . We are still reviewing the proposed Logo. November 10, 2000 A Steering committe met in Phoenix Arizona over the weekend in Phoenix to hammer out various aspects of the formation of the I.S.L.S.M.R. Attended by Stephen Podwojski, Towne Comee, Duncan Thomson, Rodney Benner and Brandy Bruce-Sharp. Pete Peterson joined us on the eGroups chat site. A proposed mission statement was established and the Bylaws. Also dicussed was marketing the Society (including establishing a website), membership fees and membership benefits. These last topics will take more input and more discussion. Other items discussed was the development of a LOGO. Brandy has the technology to do a great job on that but any other people who want to throw their artistic abilities into the ring, please do so. Marketing the Society was discussed and a list of about 25 items was generated. |
