October 12, 2001 Thursday night on-line meeting recap: Web site hosting has been fully researched. Currently, the primary discussion centers on the type of server that can host the site. NT ===== has Frontpage ability has ASP (active server pages) has Perl scripting (less reliable) No PHP scripting) UNIX ===== No Frontpage ASP?? reliable platform for perl PHP scripting ability Official letterhead format had been reviewed and accepted. Membership cards are in the works. Some discussion on card size but generally, if it is going to fit in a wallet, it needs to be laminated with the overall size should be about 2" by 3.5". When laminated it will be about 2 5/8" by 3 7/8". Shirts should be available next week. This order got put on the back burner as other shirt projects went to the front of the line by the manufacturer [WTC related]. Euro version of flyer is about complete. Mail out piece is just about wrapped up. We are looking for volunteer webmasters - the magic number is 3. More on this when we decide on the webhosting server. Officially - I will be flying next Thursday evening [Oct. 18] so I will not be at the next ONLINE meeting. |
